The relationship between policy and agroecology is complex; therefore, any simple list of policies that support agroecology is a risky oversimplification without an explanation of the context. Further, some lists of policies for agroecology have inclusion criteria that are quite open and not subject to vetting against principles of agroecology. Thus, many of the policies indicated may just as easily support corporate led, climate-smart or even conventional agriculture. With this in mind, some attempts have been made to collect and present policies that promote agroecology.
