Principles/elements of agroecology
Proponents of agroecology have advanced the idea that agroecology involves a process of continuous transition that does not follow prescriptive rules, but rather is based on core principles, elements and values that are adapted and applied in particular contexts. Thus, different proposals for these principles, which are often presented in the form of lists and infographics, are a key resource for anyone looking to engage in agroecology. These vary in their orientation, politics and in their presentation. Like the growing number of definitions of agroecology, only some of these sets of principles reflect a deeply transformative perspective.
